Navy and Oak Bedroom, Closet and Powder Bath Update

This Grandview project updated several rooms at once: oak floors, navy walls with new crown molding, custom closet systems with built-in shelving, and a powder bath finished in navy and brass. Doing the rooms together kept the trim, paint, and flooring consistent from one space to the next.

Why we update rooms together

Refinishing floors, installing trim, and painting in separate projects means sanding dust on new paint, mismatched stain colors, and trim that doesn’t line up. Planning several rooms as one project lets each trade happen once, in the right order: floors, then trim, then paint, then closet systems.

Built-ins versus off-the-shelf closet kits

Store-bought closet kits come in fixed widths, so they leave gaps at the walls and ceiling. The systems in this project were sized to each closet and trimmed out with crown molding so they read as part of the house.

Who a project like this fits

This kind of update suits homeowners who are staying put and want several rooms brought up to date at once, with a single plan, a single fixed price, and one crew responsible for how it all fits together. Projects like this start at $10,000.
